Alexander Lervik tolkar känslan av att vara på resande fot i en ny lobbyinstallation på Nordic Light Hotel. Under vintern förvandlas Nordic Light Hotels lobby till en knytpunkt för ankommande och avresande. Invigning sker i samband med Stockholm Design Week 2010. Från den 8 februari fram till april kan branschfolk och allmänheten uppleva den flyg- och reseinspirerande installationen som anspelar på vad vi bär med oss i bagaget.
– Jag är väldigt stolt och ser det som en utmaning att få synas på Nordic Light Hotel under Stockholm Design Week. Jag har alltid fascinerats av hotellmiljöer och ville skapa en utställning som knyter an till den faktiska miljön. Hotellet är ett tillfälligt hem på resan. Samtidigt är det en plats för nya möten människor emellan med olika historier och förutsättningar i bagaget, säger Alexander Lervik.
Installationen byggs i samarbete med Johanson Design, finska SAAS Instruments och belgiska Dark.
Alexander Lervik utmärker sig inom både produktdesign och interiör design, med formgivning av allt från möbler, textil, glas och industriell design till restauranger, nattklubbar och butiker. Hans arbete finns representerat på Nationalmuseum i Stockholm, Röhsska i Göteborg och på designmuseet Oslo. Alexander Lerviks arbete är starkt konceptuellt med förankring och utgångspunkt i en tydlig idé. www.lervik.se
Nordic Light Hotel har under åren blivit en naturlig arena i Stockholm för många designevenemang. Hotellets grundkoncept bygger på att skapa föränderlighet och nya inspirerande upplevelser för en designintresserad publik. Under året förändras lobbymiljön flera gånger med gästinstallationer med allt från etablerade designers till helt nya kreatörer som arbetar tillsammans med hotellets eget designteam. www.nordiclighthotel.se
Under Stockholm Design Week arrangeras ett antal events på hotellet. Lobbyn fungerar som en naturlig mötesplats för allmänhet, designers, producenter och press.
