15 x 15 x 15 – Alexander Lervik

15 x Years, 15 x Photographers, 15 x Chairs Exhibition
5/10/2013—13/10/2013, Klevgränd 10, Stockholm

In 2013, Alexander Lervik celebrates 15 years as a designer, during which time he has launched an equal amount of chairs. By asking 15 Swedish and internationally well known photographers from the art, fashion and music fields to each pick a chair to photograph, he is not only giving them free reign to interpret a chair from his production – but also to question and push the boundaries of what product photography can be. Photographers involved in the project include Martin Parr, Gunnar Smoliansky, Annika von Hausswolf, Vee Speers, Mary Ellen Mark, Lynn Goldsmith, Dawid, Brendan Austin, Bruno Ehrs, Mats Bäcker, Helen PE, Andreas Ackerup, Elisabeth Toll, Julia Peirone and Gerry Johansson.

The exhibition, will tour a number of galleries during 2013/2014. After Stockholm it will go to New York in May 2014. It will also result in a book, written by Hanna Nova Beatrice giving equal space to the designer Alexander Lervik and his work, as well as to the photographers involved in the project, and their thoughts behind the image they produce. Curator of the exhibition: Staffan Bengtsson

The launch will be in collaboration with well known gallerist Kleerup. Many of the photographers involved in the project will attend the press conference and the opening party.

The chairs are produced by: Johanson Design, Skandiform, Moroso, SAAS Instruments and Daredutch.
