Introducing the VLA26 Vega Chair in Chrome by Vilhelm Lauritzen Architects – Carl Hansen & Søn

The Sound of Design

In partnership with Vilhelm Lauritzen Architects, Carl Hansen & Søn launched the VLA26 Vega Chair in 2022, in an elegant mix of powder coated black steel, wood, and textile or leather upholstery. Now, the chair is available in a new variant featuring a contemporary, polished chrome frame.

The Vega Chair was originally designed by Vilhelm Lauritzen in 1956 for the Danish labour movement’s meeting place, in Copenhagen, which later was transformed into the concert venue Vega. The chair’s functionalist design is almost effortlessly simple and timeless, but still with a very clear character. The precise upholstery on the seat and the back adds a slender and refined expression while enhancing comfort. The chair is also available without upholstery, bringing the tactile oak into full focus.
