Problems are solved. Hans Sandgren Jakobsen observes flaws in existing furniture and through his design, he finds new solutions. Heavily loaded and tired book-shelves inspired to the development of new shelves of shaped veneer with a height of arch in its longitudinal direction and a built-in wooden core in »Library«, the book shelves from 1998. Like a bridge the shelves signal strength, elegance and elasticity.

The simplicity of Japanese tea rooms has fascinated Hans Sandgren Jakobsen ever since he was a trainee in a design studio in Japan as a newly qualified designer. The peace and tranquility connected with the tea ceremony started off the development of »Eri«, the tatami chair. Its sculptural back is shaped in one piece of ash, inspired by the way Japanese women tie their kimonos around their waists.
