UNI chair received Forum AID's +1 Award 2008

Best in show at Helsinki Design Week

Uni chair, designed by Samuli Naamanka and produced by Avarte, received +1 Award at Helsinki Design Week. The award is presented every year by Forum AID magazine for the most exciting innovation of the year at Helsinki Design Week or Habitare.

Last year's winner, Mikko Heikkinen from Heikkinen-Komonen Architects, selected this year's winner and his statement was:
“A rose is a rose and a chair is a chair. UNI by Samuli Naamanka is a chair that makes design look simple. The light stackable chair in moulded birch is as beautiful as it is comfortable. A piece of plywood furniture – that does not look like a piece of plywood furniture. And nevertheless makes use of all the possibilities of the material. The spare parts, when UNI is sawed out, are used in other products.”

Uni chair will be available in three different colors from November onwards.
