The Opening of the Exhibition ‘House of Taste: Art in Life, Life in Art’ at D MUSEUM in Seoul

To mark its 10th anniversary, D MUSEUM is presenting a special exhibition titled ‘House of Taste: Art in Life, Life in Art’, which runs from November 15, 2024, to May 18, 2025. Centred around the theme of “personal houses,” the exhibition offers a unique exploration of the intersection between life and art, showcasing around 300 works by 70 internationally acclaimed artists and designers.

The exhibition unfolds across three themed “houses”, inviting visitors to experience artworks by Kim Hwan-ki, Park Seo-bo, Picasso, and Calder, alongside iconic furniture designs by Jean Prouvé and Finn Juhl. Each “house” reflects the distinctive tastes of five imagined personalities, creating an immersive and thought-provoking journey.

On the upper floor, one “house” is dedicated entirely to Finn Juhl. Here, visitors can explore an impressive collection that ranges from vintage furniture to relaunched classics, as well as contemporary artworks. The exhibition celebrates Finn Juhl’s timeless aesthetic and shines a light on his significant influence.

This exhibition aims to reinterpret everyday spaces through an artistic perspective, reflecting the museum’s philosophy of bringing serendipity into daily life. Rather than presenting art in isolation, it emphasises the harmony between the artworks and their surrounding environments, offering visitors an engaging, multidimensional experience.
