The KS1 Chair embodies the essence of an essential chair by Kasper Salto – OneCollection

The KS1 Chair embodies the essence of an essential chair – crafted entirely in solid wood and designed to meet the demands of everyday use. It’s stackable, durable, and comfortable, with a clear expression that feels at home in public spaces, cultural institutions, and community settings.

Created by Danish designer and cabinetmaker Kasper Salto, the KS1 Chair was developed with a focus on longevity and minimal environmental impact. While most wooden chairs rely on molded plywood, the designer chose solid wood throughout to reduce resource use and simplify the production process, resulting in a chair that’s both tactile and timeless.

Its construction is straightforward yet sophisticated. Each joint is precisely engineered for strength, allowing the chair to endure years of repeated use without compromising on elegance or comfort. Kasper Salto personally built the first prototype to test the details that define the chair’s character. The KS1 Chair is made at OneCollection’s workshop in Vejen, Denmark, where craftsmanship and quality are central. It’s available in FSC-certified oak, beech, or ash, with webbing made from 90% recycled cotton in black or natural tones. Designed to be useful, durable, and beautiful, the KS1 Chair reflects a deep respect for materials, tradition, and the spaces we share.
