Right when World War II ended in 1945, optimistic brothers Yngve and Jerker Ekström and their friend Bertil Sjöqvist founded ESE, the furniture company that, 16 years later, changed its name to SWEDESE. The company that is world-famous for design and still develops and manufactures at its own factories in Småland – 70 years later.

Throughout 2015, we will observe the 70-year anniversary of Swedese in various ways, including by telling our incredible history, and by upholstering Yngve Ekström’s famous reading chair in a way we reckon neither you nor he would have ever imagined.
