Designed to meet the ever-evolving needs of contemporary environments, Space Copenhagen’s Loafer collection continues to expand with the addition of a Club and a Side chair.
Adapting the form of the original Loafer Lounge chair designed for the SAS Royal Hotel in Copenhagen, the latest additions to the collection claim their role as modern icons. Carrying the same graceful identity that defines their counterparts, the new models are a testimony to Space Copenhagen’s ability to craft pieces of timeless significance.
Created to meet the shifting demands of private and hospitality spaces, the new designs preserve the character of the lounge chair model whilst enhancing its functional versatility. With their elegant contours and plush upholstery, Space Copenhagen’s latest collection additions have been crafted to suit places of work and leisure interchangeably.
“We designed the new Loafer additions to be adaptable pieces of furniture,” comments Space Copenhagen’s co-founder, Signe Bindslev Henrikson. She adds: “The seating can comfortably host both people lounging for a sustained period of time, or a more fleeting timeframe as they wait for a taxi.”
Whether in use or unoccupied, the chairs contribute to a harmonious and uncluttered spatial experience. This is accentuated by the decision to omit surplus elements of armrests, which enables users to find their seat from either side of the chairs in environments that have limited space. This feature also allows the models to congregate in large groups around dining and conference tables while preserving a sense of openness and ease of movement.
Available in a multitude of fabrics and upholstery options, the chairs can be tailored to suit a variety of aesthetic preferences and high-traffic areas.
