Softly Pleated design by Philip Bro for Le Klint

A new series of hand-folded felt lamps designed by Philip Bro. The lamps combine soft, varm light with an effective downward glow, adding both function and sense of danish “hygge” to any space. The sound-absorbing material and sharp pleats provide a striking acoustic effect, while the shape effortlessy remains its structure after being touched.

The series initially includes two pendant types in three sizes, all featuring elegant brass details.

This series is a reinterpretation of Le Klint’s iconic cross-pleating – here scaled up and crafted from sturdy, sound-absorbing felt. Precise cuts in the felt serve as folding lines, inspired by techniques from both paper and metal, creating an exciting structure where both functionality and aesthetics take center stage.

Fine perforations produce beautiful lighting effects in the large pendants – the light glows softly through the material, highlighting the details of the pleats. At the same time, SOFTLY PLEATED offers significant acoustic damping, thanks to the absorbent felt material and the many sharp angles that effectively diffuse sound.
