Northern proudly unveils an exciting extension to the beloved Snowball series — a design that marked the very beginning of the brand two decades ago. Now, in celebration of its 20-year legacy, Snowball is back in a new, versatile form: a portable lamp collection designed for both indoor and outdoor spaces.

The new Snowball Portable series stays true to the timeless elegance of the original while introducing enhanced flexibility and contemporary finishes. Available in brass and grey-beige painted finishes, these new Northern lamp icons offer warmth, sophistication, and adaptability to modern lifestyles. The collection includes two distinct versions.

The Snowball Portable series features a USB type C charging facility and a three-level, touch-activated dimmer function.

The table version is slightly smaller than the original classic Snowball table, making it ideal for social settings—whether on a small restaurant table, in a cozy lounge, on an outdoor veranda, or in a stylish home dining area. It allows users to create the perfect ambiance for any occasion.

It also fits beautifully on windowsills, bookshelves, sideboards, tables, and more, making it a versatile choice that works well both indoors and outdoors, free from constraints.

In addition to the table edition, Northern introduces a new floor version, offering even greater versatility and elegant illumination for both indoor and outdoor settings. One of Norway’s most acclaimed chefs, Trond has always had an appreciation for aesthetics. His links with Northern were forged at the very beginning, when he became one of the original four founders of the company. At the time, Trond and the other founders considered the Norwegian design industry to be rich in potential, but somewhat bankrupt in innovation. Together, they set out to revitalise the industry by reintroducing classic designs and rethinking the roles that everyday objects can play. The new brand was launched with the spectacular Snowball light Trond designed, which fused some of the colours, textures and shapes associated with the Bauhaus period into a uniquely timeless lamp. Trond’s Snowball light continues to be one of Northern’s most popular designs, setting the tone for many more lighting innovations to come.
