Snøhetta – Ryerson wins 2017 Toronto Urban Design Award

The Ryerson University Student Learning Centre has been selected for a 2017 Toronto Urban Design Award of Excellence for Public Building in Context. The biannual award acknowledges and celebrates designers who are helping to improve communities by shaping the City’s physical environment.

The jury noted that “By programming the building as public, and not as a building exclusive to the Ryerson community, the school has made a powerful statement about its location on Yonge Street and how it can contribute to the public realm.” To read the full jury’s comments and see the 2017 Award winners, visit the link here.
