VOXIA: clarity, coherence and simplicity.
Designed by Peter Karpf, this line of moulded beech plywood chairs is
the
result of more than 30 years of exploration of the optimum simplicity
in a
chair, unifying space with the article of furniture. VOXIA is furniture
that
is present without being irksome. The beech is sourced from a sustainably
managed forest close to the production plant. Because of the planned veneer
pattern, the cut-away wood waste is minimal. The back, seat and legs are
produced and combined in one continuous process. Thin, three dimensional,
curved surfaces replace the traditionally large consumption of materials
and
energy in production.
The nxt was the first chair in the line. It is stackable and has a very
pure, restrained but graphical form (red dot award : Best selection office
design). The eco is a single piece of beech plywood folded three times
at
near right angles, with slits cut to form thin back legs. It has a
comfortable, slightly springy feel and is impressively easy to stack.
(iF
Ecology Design Award 2000, best of category). The oto lounge chair is
at
once a sculpture and a comfortable, resilient lounge seat. With its smaller
appearance, the stackable vuw stool is positioned on the edge of Voxia's
flock as its watchdog. It comes when called.
