Mayflower
Design: Lars Pettersson & Thomas Bernstrand
Mayflower, in an elegant upholstered version with many possible combinations. Our craftsmen have skillfully clothed the chair with the surfaces and angles correctly accentuated. The material of the seat shell is moulded polyurethane resting on tubular steel legs moulded into the shell. Choose between low or high back supports. With no arm rests at all, open steel frames or completely upholstered arm rests. The leg supports are available as a simple four legged construction, or a revolving seat support with a five spoke construction on wheels. All in chromium plated steel.
The interplay between light and shadow
«Mayflower is a multi-faceted range of furniture, both in terms of the visual and the functional. The thinking behind the design is the structure of a prism, that offers a continuously changing interplay between light and shadow. With its clear form and contours it fits in easily and at the same time, radiates character. This project has been our first collaboration with Klaessons. Looking into the future, their courage in investing in the new, together with a thorough knowledge of design management, has given us a taste for more».

Design: Kajsa Nordström
The Viper chair can be complemented with a flexible table that is both stackable and connectable. The table top is compression moulded, with a birch veneer surface or, alternatively, with white or black high pressure laminate. The legs are made of chromium plated steel tubing.
A sharp silhouette
«The assignment to design a stackable shell chair for Klaessons has been a tremendous challenge that has led to exciting collaboration. Our idea has been to combine traditional, well proven techniques and materials with new thinking in terms of form and shape. To give Viper a strong identity through its sharp silhouette, well thought out function and ease of use. The chair is complemented this year with a flexible range of tables of the same name. To work with Klaessons has been and still is amazingly rewarding. Knowledge, acceptance and venture are key words that one meets here, above all within the new Klaessons that has developed during 2005. I am delighted with my collaboration with this exciting company».
