MIO

BY TAKAGI/HOMSTVEDT

Practical beauty

You may recognize Mio´s design details from our Ami series, also designed by Takagi/Homstvedt. But Mio has a life of its own with its simple yet well thought trough details, it compliments any interior. Featuring a lapped steel framework that supports two circular plates, Mio simultaneously references modernist architecture with its daring cantilevers and the primitive legibility of Enzo Mari’s Autoprogettazione. The practical bottom shelf creates extra space for storage.

“We originally designed Mio to complement Hjelle’s Ami sofa program; however, as the family of occasional tables developed, they immediately took on a life of their own. Featuring a lapped steel framework that supports two circular planes, Mio simultaneously references modernist architecture with its daring cantilevers and the primitive legibility of Enzo Mari’s Autoprogettazione. The table surfaces are available in a range of materials that include a softly profiled solid oak, tinted glass and Larvikitt granite, the iconic Norwegian stone instantly recognized by its crystalline structure. Additionally, Mio comes flat packed and is assembled in minutes with just a few screws.” – Takagi/Homstvedt
