Lento Lounge chair – received the 2012 GOOD DESIGN™ design by Harri Koskinen

The Lento Lounge easy chair has received the 2012 GOOD DESIGN™ Award and the Interior Innovation Award – Winner2013. GOOD DESIGN™ is the world’s most prestigious, recognized, and oldest Design Award program, organizedannually by The Chicago Athenaeum Museum of Architecture and Design in cooperation with the European Centre forArchitecture, Art, Design and Urban Studies. The Interior Innovation Award is granted by the German Design Council onthe occasion of the imm cologne fair.

Lento is a project which began as far back as 2006 with a chair. Koskinen wanted to design a series of wooden furniture that would be both lightweight and affordable. In 2009 the series was complemented with a table and an upholstered chair. The new Lento lounge chair and table are the latest additions to the product family. An upholstered version of the lounge chair is also available.

Harri Koskinen’s design language is characterized by practicality and an uncompromising aesthetic. He searches for clarity and innovative solutions that meet the needs of the consumer and the manufacturer alike. Lento is a graphic product family, but also pleasantly anonymous. It is equally suited for public places and private homes.

”Lento means flight and its design can be associated with lightness and airiness.”  –  Harri Koskinen
