Laulu cabinet by Matti Klenell – Made by Choice

The very new Laulu cabinet produced by madebychoice is nominated to the sthlmfurnfair Born Classic Award in collaboration with bukowskis. Made of cnc milled birch plywood and intended for storing, displaying and room dividing.

“It might sound dull but what inspire me the most is everyday situations and to solve everyday needs. Such a process can land absolutely anywhere in the end, witch the Laulu project is a clear proof of. The cabinet is a spin off from the Laulu chair where I got a bit obsessed with the CNC milling tool park at the Made by Choice factory. I wanted to test that to the limit. It became a visually very strong vitrine that is also very practical for storing, displaying and dividing of spaces.”

– Matti Klenell

The Laulu cabinet created with swedish designer Matti Klenell is intended for storing, displaying and room dividing. All four sides of the cabinet is covered with a perforated pattern consisting 3296 holes that gives the volume a semi-transparent appearance. The cabinet is constructed from CNC milled Valchromat board with a base in solid wood.
