Studio Simo Lahtinen’s Kehikko chair embodies Scandinavian minimalism with its balanced silhouette and honest design approach. Taking its name from the Finnish word for “framework,” this 2023 prototype eliminates unnecessary elements while maintaining complete functionality. Crafted from oak and birch, the chair transitions effortlessly between home and public spaces. Its carefully calculated dimensions (H670mm x W545mm x D520mm, seat height 462mm) ensure ergonomic comfort alongside aesthetic appeal. Currently available for production, Kehikko represents Lahtinen’s skillful fusion of traditional woodworking with contemporary design sensibilities.
