Fritz Hansen and Skagerak manufacture furniture and interior objects of the highest quality
With the acquisition of Skagerak, Fritz Hansen’s portfolio furniture, lighting and accessories is extended to include outdoor furniture.
The purchase is part of Fritz Hansen’s ambitious growth strategy, initiated in 2019 with major investments to strengthen distribution channels and showrooms across Asia, Central Europe and North America.
Skagerak is a family- and partner-owned company founded in Denmark in 1976. Designing and manufacturing furniture responsibly, with both people and planet in mind, Skagerak upholds high standards in everything it does – from product design to production processes to partner and customer relations. In 2020/21, Skagerak delivered its best fiscal result to date, doubling its revenue and demonstrating significant growth in all markets.
On the acquisition, Josef Kaiser, CEO at Fritz Hansen, says, “Skagerak and Fritz Hansen are a natural fit. Both are rooted in Nordic design traditions and responsible manufacturing and synonymous with furniture and interior design of the highest quality. With the acquisition of Skagerak we can now offer our customers, private and professional, a larger product offering whilst strengthening our business in our home market as well as internationally. Skagerak is a solid business, shaped from many of the same core values as Fritz Hansen. We are delighted to welcome Skagerak to the fold.”
Favourable market conditions and substantial investments saw Fritz Hansen log strong financial results for 2020 and the company looks forward to continuous growth together with Skagerak.
In addition to sharing basic beliefs, the brands’ ongoing commitments to customer excellence and responsible practices also pave the way for a prosperous, mutually beneficial future.
“My wife Vibeke and I are proud to have built a strong business which cares about the world we live in, particularly the people we work with. Skagerak stands for longevity and responsibility when it comes to design and aesthetics, ensuring the products we make will last for generations. We are very happy to become part of the Fritz Hansen family and a company with an outstanding reputation, a strong culture and a long-term perspective. We have found the perfect home for Skagerak,” says Jesper Panduro, owner and CEO of Skagerak, on the acquisition.
