Drawing Circles, an exhibition with designer Richard Hutten
Offecct and Kvadrat presents Drawing Circles, an exhibition that leads the way into the creative mind of Dutch designer Richard Hutten. This is the first time Richard Hutten’s work has been presented to any extent in Sweden, it is an expose of some of his iconic designs from entering the stage in the early nineties until his most recent projects for Kvadrat and Offecct. Drawing Circles will be shown in the Offecct Showroom, which for the occasion has turned into a celebration to circles, a geometric shape which is essential to Richard Hutten’s work.
– To me, a circle is the most elegant shape, it is without direction and has no bulky sides and this exhibition will show some of my designs that revolve around this geometrical shape. To make this exhibition together with Kvadrat and Offecct feels very natural, it’s a perfect match, says Richard Hutten. Included in the exhibition is the sculpture, Layer Cloud Chair, made for Kvadrat in 2014 which is made out of 840 square meters of fabric composed in 100 colours in 545 layers. The exhibition also features videos, drawings and the latest collaborations with Offecct.
– We are looking forward to see Richard Hutten unfold his creative thoughts, says Anders Byriel CEO Kvadrat.
– This is our third collaboration with Richard Hutten and we are very pleased to present this exhibition during Stockholm Design Week, says Kurt Tingdal CEO Offecct.
