Compendium

Info: How informs you up a room with only one light source? The aim of the development of light Compendium was to solve the task. Studio Daniel Rybakken chose two main steps to create a product that responded to the objective, namely to use a very strong LED light source and letting light flood side –  as here through a wall.

The jury’s verdict: A sculpture in the shape of a lamp, the jury glowing characteristics of this lamp. The designers have succeeded in creating daylight effect, which can be of great value for people living in cramped city apartments without much light. It is innovative on a new level. The concept of rendering daylight works very well and the indirect light has surprisingly good effect. We like the restrained form expression; since light is black and narrow, it is as if the light coming sideways from a window. Light gets a special effect. A product that gives goosebumps.

Counterbalance

Info: A wall mounted lamp based on counterweight principle. It was the goal of the development of light Counterbalance. Using gears working counterweight design key element in the lamp if components shall constitute two-dimensional graphics. The elements will give a tight design expression with two circles and pipes as straight lines.

The jury’s verdict: It adds Design category something new. The use of leverage, and movement possibilities in all directions gives Counterbalance added value and makes it stand out. The lamp has a unique and distinct form of expression based on the designer’s strategy and thoughts – which also permeates the entire company. We applaud the use of good visual effects. The tight visual expression has an inherent poetics which structurally will hold up over time and not become obsolete anytime soon. We also like the way the designers have adopted the thoughtful design touch, making it easy to adjust the location, easy to get hold of the light switch and the light does not get especially hot. This is a successful light source created by the stunning design technical craftsmanship.
