Cosmo family by Håkan Olsson & Christoffer Jonsson, White arkitekter

The Cosmo family was extended at the Stockholm Furniture Fair 2019, when Håkan Olsson and Christoffer Jonsson from White Arkitekter presented new members to the Cosmo seating range for Jonas Ihreborn.

The additions develop the original Cosmo chair — itself launched in 2018 — with an emphasis on high usability and simplicity in shape.

The Cosmo chair was the first furniture collaboration between White Arkitekter and Ihreborn, establishing a compact, versatile form suited to lounge and public environments.

The 2019 additions expand the family with further seating configurations that maintain the design logic of the original: clean proportions, soft upholstery, and a restrained visual character that allows the pieces to function across a range of interior settings.

Håkan Olsson and Christoffer Jonsson are architects and designers at White Arkitekter, one of Sweden’s largest and most established architecture offices. Founded in 1951, White Arkitekter works across architecture, urban planning, and interiors, and has developed a growing body of furniture design through collaborations with Swedish manufacturers.

Jonas Ihreborn is a Swedish furniture manufacturer based in Värnamo, founded in 1965. The company produces upholstered furniture for public, hospitality, and residential environments, and works with a roster of Swedish and Nordic designers. The Cosmo family sits alongside other long-running Jonas Ihreborn collections including Blob, designed by Helene Tiedemann, and Seventy, designed by Jonas Ihreborn himself.
