This year, Royal Copenhagen celebrates 2 250 years of unparalleled craftftsmanship, design, and innovation. As part of 3daysofdesign between June 18-20, 2025, Royal Copenhagen invites visitors to an immersive exhibition that pays homage to its rich heritage and timeless artistry.
For 250 years, Royal Copenhagen has exemplified exceptional craftsmanship, merging tradition with innovation to create iconic porcelain. The brand is the embodiment of Danish design, defined by its unparalleled quality and timeless approach to porcelain craftsmanship.
Set in Royal Copenhagen’s historic flagship s store, this exhibition offers a contemporary and modern perspective on centuries-old traditions. Honouring the artisans whose dedication has shaped the brand, this exhibition invites visitors to discover the artistry and intricate craft behind each piece, from Flora Danica and Blue Fluted Plain to art projects and contemporary objects.
“The exhibition is a tribute to Royal Copenhagen’s craftsmanship, offering a journey through 250 years of history. It showcases how traditional techniques have remained unchanged for decades while also highlighting the innovations that have redefined the art of working with porcelain”, says Jasper Toron Nielsen, Creative Director of Royal Copenhagen.
This is not just a celebration—it’s a dynamic, multi-sensory showcase that invites visitors to step into the world of porcelain like never before. From the intricate artistry behind Flora Danica and Blue Fluted Plain to hands-on painting workshops and the launch of a new interior collection, every element offers a surprising twist on tradition. With a Motif pop-up café, curated souvenirs, and immersive design moments, Royal Copenhagen creates a destination during 3daysofdesign where heritage meets innovation in unexpected, inspiring ways.
“We want the exhibition to be a truly immersive experience, bringing our flagship store to life through a dynamic mix of events and workshops. Personally, I love it when a brand goes beyond simply showcasing a product and instead invites people into the creative process—that’s exactly what we aim to do. We want guests to experience the full journey, from the very first sketches to the tools used to shape the porcelain and the meticulous artistry of the painters. Our goal is to highlight the beauty of the craft and the many skilled hands and minds involved, from development to the final creation of a collection,” says Jasper Toron Nielsen, Creative Director of Royal Copenhagen.
For this year’s 3daysofdesign edition, Royal Copenhagen collaborates with MOON, a Copenhagen-based creative agency known for their powerful projects, to bring this exhibition to life. Together, the two have shaped a contemporary experience that reinterprets 250 years of craftsmanship with fresh energy and modern clarity.
The exhibition can be explored at Royal Copenhagen’s flagship store at Amagertorv 6, Copenhagen, at 3daysofdesign between June 18-20, 2025, 10:00 – 18:00.
