Verner Panton trained at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts, Copenhagen, and initially worked in Arne Jacobsen´s architectural practice. He established his own design office in 1955 and is credited with the design of the very first single-form injection-moulded plastic chair - the Stacking chair designed in 1960.
