The easy chair "VIA spring chair", 1990.
The chair was developed for use in public waiting rooms. The construction of the chair is based on the so-called "active form principle". At the heart of the chair is a steel spring the forces of which are held in balance by the fabric. The fabric itself is based on a Hoechst fire-retarding fibre material, and the fabric pattern plays on the contrast between the brightness of the fibre and matt-coloured synthetic rubber cording.
