Bass lines New from Blueroom loudspeakers, the company that went beyond the black box with its covetable Minipod speakers, is the Minipod bass-station. Described by the company as 'the fat boy of the sub woofer world', the product was designed by Simon Ghahary and engineered by consultant Lawrence Dickie. Its shape is a vented axisymmetric enclosure, and the gently flared port ends minimise air turbulence which in turn increases the bass-station's undistorted acoustic output. Available in standard Minipod finishes as well as two special edition colours -- pearlescent white and midnight blue (shown here) -- the bass-station will retail a little short of £500 (Euro 800). back to the newsstand |
