is back in milan and presents his recent artworks:
large, overwhelming paintings, schnabel uses any tool:
linen table clothes soaked in liquid oil paint, brushes, his hands...
'I do dream about art, and images come to me in dreams.
I am definitely hoping to be in touch with my subconscious.
I expect a call any minute.' he says.

italian history organized by cosmit to celebrate the 40th salone
internazionale del mobile
features art-works dedicated entirely to italy,
by achille bonito oliva, staged by pierluigi cerri
with works by joseph kosuth, hidetoshi nagasawa, nam june paik,
panamarenko, julian schnabel, chen zhen
with an introduction by michelangelo pistoletto
lifestyle and politics, a italian history in film clips, art-works and theater,
by gae aulenti and luca ronconi, featuring a performance by la
fura dels baus and with contributions by achille bonito oliva,
cristina brigidini, paolo mereghetti and vanni pasca
fashio garnments and design objects from the past 50 years,
by olivniero toscani
italian kitchen and interviews,
by andrea pezzi with an installation by gaetano pesce
an allegorical ironic portrayal of the triumph of italy's manufacturing system,
by pier luigi pizzi
