Sweden opens the city of Stockholm to Tokyo for our mutual communication. Stockholm is renowned as a metropolis elegantly wedded to its natural environment. One of the classic European cities, it is a mix of medieval charm and modern urban planning with a specific emphasis on the natural environment. Sweden is known as a lifestyle leader, one which offers both the assurances of a mature welfare system, and international cultural state as exemplified by its Nobel awards.

Tokyo was the originator of Asia's hyper-urbanization. Firebombed flat at the end of the Second World War, the city was rebuilt in an organic modernity of raw competition, the likes of which can not be seen in the West. Even today, despite the economic woes that have plagued Japan for a decade, Tokyo still rages forth with dynamic experiments in urbanization that defy calculation.

TOKYO STYLE IN STOCKHOLM 2004 starts with an outdoor arena located in the fashionable center of Stockholm. From here, the project will expand into the exhibition and event spaces in surrounding museums, galleries, clubs, shops, hotels, restaurants, and other unexpected spaces.
