Fair 7-1 1 February
What a year!
We started in December with a preview of this years great event; a new store and showroom in the very heart of Design-Stockholm with the best of neighbours and colleagues. This is the first step of an international expansion of the David design shop concept. It contains an assortment of contemporary furniture (our own and others), interior decoration products (our own and others), cook shop, books, clothes, music and an espresso bar with our famous Gaggia from 1960.
Next exciting step was to start a new cooperation, this time as agent for the English manufacturer Hille, who produces the classic Robin Day chair in plastic from the 60's. You will find some of their range in our showroom.
In the meantime three Swedish designers; one well-known, Monica Fbrster and two recent graduates, from University of Arts & Crafts, Lars Pettersson and from Beckmans school of design, Johanna Egnell, have been developing new products that we proudly will present during the Stockholm Furniture Fair 2001:
SHE. A low sofa table in a poetic shape, made out of MDF, painted turquoise or white, with matte chromium plated legs. Available in two sizes. Design Johanna Egnell (The friendly mug Mocca, presented last year, is another good example of Johanna's sympathetic design).
ENO. Easy chair and chaise Tongue. The seat is built of half-transparent composite fibre tissue, which is stretched over a hardened steel frame. Upon that you apply the different clothes. As the easy chair, the chaise Tongue is built of feather steel, fibre tissue and a frame of lacquered steel tubes. Design Lars Pettersson.
BOB. A piece of cosy soft furniture in three sizes; small medium and large by Monica Förster. Bob is made of a single sided flat rubberized polyester which is an exceptional airtight material. In the combination with the filling Bob responds perfectly to your body and gives a feeling of sitting in pure vacuum! Available in a range of fresh colours. (Monica has also designed the, by now world famous, silicone lamp Silikon for us.)
The new products will be mixed with almost new and some old ones from our collection. Among them; Byrne working station and Byrne chair (in new colours) by Eero Koivisto, Funk storage system by Per Sbderberg, Toop lounge chair also by Eero Koivisto and the Coffee Bean table (in new colours) by Tim Power. Our agencies Hille, Bisley and Pia Wallén are of course on display as well Pia with both new colours and versions of her products.
