LIGHTSTORIES
The experimental Copenhagen-based group LIGHTSTORIES are participating in
the IV Salone Sattelite at the Salone Internazionale Del Mobile 2001 fair in Milano.
LIGHTSTORIES consist of 8 young designers who are coming to the fair to establish contact with manufacturers and designers.

The group LIGHTSTORIES was established in October 1997. Their aim is to tell stories about light -with light . The stories are told by experimenting with different materials, form and space as well as playing with the light. The results are exhibited as individual designs which can be seen as parts of a bigger story, or as individual stories in themselves. The designers attempt to show the possibilities for new experiences of light by making new suggestions and encouraging people to find their own interactions with the light.

LIGHTSTORIES consists of five practicing industrial designers, an artist, an interior architect and a stage designer. They are Lovorika Banovic, Igor kolobaric (Bosnia&Herzegovina), Monna Blegvad, Hans E. Madsen, Carlo Volf (Denmark), Aleksej Iskos (Ukraine), Janne Oehre (Norway) and Adalsteinn Stefansson (Iceland). The group has proved themselves successful from the beginning in 1998 when they exhibited at the design fair in Herning, Denmark. Soon after they made two linked exhibitions at the Danish museum of Decorative Art.

In 1999 they exhibited new items at the Scandinavian Furniture Fair in Bella Center and at the Louis Poulsen showroom in Copenhagen, as well as shows at the Designers Block in London for the fair 100% Design. Early in 2000 they made their third exhibition at the Danish Museum of Decorative Art and following that an exhibition in the Danish Culture House in Paris. Later the same year the group presented a third round of new designs in Reykjavik at the Icelandic Museum of Arts and Crafts which went on to Finland for the Forces of Light festival.
