100% Design will showcase the best contemporary
design companies from across the world, at the largest event of its kind
in the UK, at Earls Court Two.
The show will allow visitors to view the very
latest, and very best, in contemporary furniture, lighting, textiles,
bathrooms and kitchens, floor and wall coverings, plus accessories for
both the domestic and contract markets.
Internationally renowned exhibitors such as SCP, Coexistence, TwentyTwentyOne
and Dornbracht will be joined by first-time exhibitors, including all4one,
Hering Berlin, Menu and Rosendahl. All exhibitors are hand-picked by a
panel of industry experts.
A range of contemporary designs from international designers including
Matthew Hilton, Claudio Silvestrin, Ron Arad and Piero Lissoni, will be
on show plus brand new talent from young designers fresh out of the country_s
leading design schools.
This year the Crafts Council has selected eight up-and-coming designer-makers
for its Bursary Award, with the recipients encompassing textile, furniture
and product design.
Hundreds of product launches will take place at the show, including
a brand new cutlery range by last year_s Blueprint Award winner, David
Mellor; a new interpretation on a classic Robin Day chair by Loft; the
b-clear glass floor by Cellbond, textiles by Veedon Fleece and furniture
by Yukichi Design. Asselle will be launching a new kitchen range, Mathmos
a brand new product and Coexistence previously unseen products from Walter
Knoll and Pearson Lloyd.
Shortlisted designs for the 100% Design / Blueprint Awards will
be on display throughout the event, the winner will be announced on Friday
27th September. Categories this year will be: Best Newcomer, Best Product
and Best Contribution _ which will be judged at the event.
The popular 100% Bookshop, stocking all the latest design, interiors
and architectural books will be joined this year by a Design Museum
shop, selling essentials for the design conscious shopper.
A comprehensive range of design-related exhibitions, openings and parties
will take place in studios, shops and museums across London _ including
the ever-popular Designers Block - under the banner 100% Guaranteed.
In keeping with 100% Design_s aim to support and encourage
young emerging design talent, this year sees the introduction of the 100%
Design Foundation Bursary: ten first-time exhibitors will be allocated
additional space at the show.
