Louise Campbell and Louis Poulsen
Lighting
reunite for new fixture
Louise Campbell found inspiration in natures own light source
when she created Collage. The idea arose out of the image of sun rays
finding their way through tree foliage, leaving a shimmering trace of
light and shadow. Louise Campbell captured the same changeability and
infinite interplay between light and shadow in her design of Collage.
Each having their own laser-cut pattern of leaves, the three acrylic
shades behave like foliage, shielding the light source to prevent glaring.
Rendering the fixture glare-free was a focal point of Louise Campbells
endeavours, as this would also ensure pleasant and comfortable light.
The beautiful leaf pattern changing its expression as the viewer changes
position is just another subtle facet of a fixture that perfectly combines
form, function and aesthetics.
Collage is available as chandelier and floor lamp, and, in addition
to the white version, the fixture is available in the colour versions
Heavenly Blue, Spring Green, Hotlips and Smoke Screen. Collage is hand-mounted,
as precision in the interspacing of the shades is paramount.
Louise Campbell (born 1970) has step by step written her name into the
long line of eminent Danish designers, winning a selection of prizes
for her work. Recently, the Campbell pendant made jointly with Louis
Poulsen won the prestigious international award; the iF Product Design
Award 2005 in gold, and last year she won the Finn Juhl Architectural
Prize.
