THE WORLDS THINNEST TABLE?

Thinner table, designed by
Tobias Berneth.
Thinner is the result of many calculations and tests carried out in order
to create a table that is just 6 mm thick an illusion of a thin,
weightless table. The shape is reminiscent of an aeroplane wing, and provides
a high level of stability.
See Tables on www.karl-andersson.se.
Tobias Berneth is from Germany and began as an apprentice with a furniture
maker, going on to study industrial design at the State Academy of Art
and Design in Stuttgart. He has gained experience as an industrial designer
at different offices in Germany, Finland, Italy and Sweden. Since 2005,
Tobias has been running his own company, Tobias Berneth Industrial Design
in Stockholm. His work has
won a number of design awards and has featured in several exhibitions.
I like experimenting with design that pushes the boundaries of what
is possible! he says. Read more on www.tobiasberneth.com

Kalvi lounge chair
designed by Ulrika E. Engberg and Johanna Eliason.
Kalvi was designed by Johanna and Ulrika during their studies at the HDK
School of Design and Crafts at Göteborg University, especially for
Karl Andersson & Söner. The idea was to make a modern lounge
chair that dares to take space. The wedge shape together with its calf-like
quality makes it a cheeky individual in our range.

Today, both run their own companies.
Ulrika E. Engberg works with concepts, furniture design and company profiling.
I am inspired by design that opens your eyes and redefines things
or makes them clearer design that creates inspiration and provides
new vision, she says. Read more on www.ulrikaengberg.com
Johanna Eliason works on everything from product development to designing
furniture and houses. Im driven by the huge variation the
design profession offers, with each project being unique. To me, care
and precision are important both in design and craftsmanship.
