Hästens hosts grand opening in Köping
On August 29, Hästens celebrates the grand opening
of its spectacular concept store, situated in the company’s hometown
of Köping. TEArk, Thomas Eriksson Arkitekter, designed the store and
developed the concept in tandem with Stockholm Design Lab, a design
agency, and Hästens. The store’s architectural flavor and showroom
range will set the standard both in Sweden and internationally.
On August 29, Hästens opens its new concept in
Köping, the company’s hometown. The 852-square-meter store will serve
as a landmark on the site where Hästens has manufactured beds for
more than 150 years.
||- The Hästens brand is one of Sweden’s
strongest, and we aim to keep it that way. The new store’s architectural
lines and interior design solutions consciously support our
brand. The store sets the standard for all our concept stores,
both in Sweden and abroad, says Jan Ryde, CEO and owner of Hästens

The concept store project began in the spring.
TEArk, Thomas Eriksson Arkitekter, designed the circular structure.

||- The new concept
store’s architectural line, design structure, and interiors strengthen
the Hästens brand and showcase the product range. The fundamental
idea was to, based on a simple and rational design, create a bold
impression. Special nighttime lighting enhances the circular form.
Our ambition is for the structure to stir the imagination and to serve
as a landmark along the E18, says Thomas Eriksson of TEArk.
TEArk and Stockholm Design Lab have collaborated
on projects that include SAS’s visual identity, involving everything
from the company’s graphic identity to the lounge concept.
