Swedish Design Prize for Caravaggio P4

At the second day of the Danish furniture exhibition, Copenhagen International Furniture Fair, which took place from 4-7 May, Cecilie Manz received ”The Forum Prize” for the most interesting innovation at the fair by the Swedish design magazine Forum.

This is the first time Forum gives away their design prize in Denmark. For the last five years Forum has given away their design prize in connection with the Swedish furniture fair, The Stockholm Furniture Fair. ”Forum prize” is best described as a relay, which means that the designer who
receives the prizes must appoint the following year’s winner. In this way the prize will never be presented to the same designer to years in a row.

Forum had asked the Danish designer, Louise Cambell, to help give away the design prize to the best novelty of the furniture fair. Even though Louise Cambell is best known for her lighting design she choose the large Caravaggio pendant and thus another lighting designer, namely Cecilie Manz.

Cecilie Manz has designed the large Caravaggio pendant for Lightyears. The lamp, which has a diameter of 55 cm, will be available in August 2006.
