With the two main exhibitions ’Zest for Life – Fernando and Humberto Campana’ and ’Assume a round chair... Eero Aarnio’ the Danish Design Centre presents works by two of today’s hottest designer names, the Campana brothers from Brazil and Eero Aarnio from Finland.

With their furniture Fernando and Humberto Campana have created a new style and aesthetics. A recurrent theme in their work is cheap mundane materials which they treat with a degree of respect that is normally only afforded the precious and the rare – with added humour, an equally rare feature in international furniture design.  In the brothers’ own words: ’We make a kind of deviation by using existing industrial materials that have been forgotten by consumers, and then adapt them for our projects. This is a thin and dangerous line that can transform design into something kitsch or folksy. It has to have a balance.”

With his minimalist expression and his tight geometric shapes, Eero Arnio may at first appear the complete opposite to the Campana brothers, but the two Brazilian brothers and the Finnish design icon have strong common features: Originality, humour, spontaneity and the ability to hit us right between the eyes.
